Have you ever liked a band that  everyone else seemed to find insipid?

What makes a band good?

Is it the amount of fans? The reaches of its exposure? Or, perhaps, its chart-topping ability. What was the last band that made you hungry for its music. What was the last band that had you race home after work, just to get that album on so you can feel like you want to, like only that band can make you feel?

Perhaps a good band is no longer relevant, maybe popularity has finally won the battle for relevance. Today you can sample a hundred different bands every day; weed out the insipid and download the listenable. You, the fan, has more power than ever before. YOU have become the one in control of all music, everywhere. (Well, your wallet has.)

You, the fan, you are why we are. Without you we are void. Thank you.

bashculture’s Anthony Coronado and Edwin Huits are real meat lovers. Every single meal they’ve had together since they joined bashculture contained meat… every single meal until yesterday. So, yesterday was a historic day in the history of bashculture, for it was the first day that Anthony and Edwin had a meal together without eating meat.“What was the reason for this?” I hear you ask. Well, after the show on Saturday night there was an after party at Edwin’s place. A bunch of people stayed over, for there was a lot of alcohol involved and it ended up being pretty late. And it wasn’t until the next morning that Edwin discovered that his fridge was almost empty. He did not have enough food at his place to provide a well-balanced breakfast for all those people who stayed over. So, instead Edwin just served some hot dogs and decided to take everyone to a restaurant he loved going to before. However, since the last time he had been to this restaurant they changed the menu and took all the meat from the menu. And so it came to be that Anthony and Edwin had their first meal without meat.

We would like to thank everyone for coming over to our show. The show had a very intimate atmosphere. All the seats in the venue were taken again and the mayor of Yamato-cho (the town we performed at) even came to see the performance.Because of the setting and the sphere of the venue bashculture decided to perform unplugged. This gave the show an extra special character. It was the first time for bashculture to do an entire live show acoustically. The reactions were heartwarming and left us with the idea that we have to do this more often. Thank you very much!

We are very glad that we can finally announce that we have put some music online!!!The songs that we put online give a good impression of what we are working on in the studio. You can already find them and hear them on Facebook (if you haven’t become a fan yet, become a bashculture fan on Facebook today!) and as soon as we have the official versions (i.e. completed, mixed and mastered) of these songs as they will appear on our first album we will put them on this site too, so you can officially download them and support bashculture (mentally as well as financially:)).We will keep you up-to-date!

In our lastpost we wrote that both Austin and Edwin will perform on the same day in thesame venue. However, this is incorrect. Edwin does play with CHIEKO this Saturday and it will start any time after20:00 (08:00 PM). But Austin will perform a week later, on Saturday, April 26.His show with the BLISS shall start around 22:00 (10:00 PM).The venue is still restaurant/jazz club CIB in Kumamoto City, Kumamoto (Japan) and the entrance fee will still be around 1,000 yen per event.
